Of all the different types of jobs currently available out there, engineering jobs are one of the most interesting options. They can also potentially be fairly lucrative, with some of the higher-paying positions offering well into the six-figure range for those lucky enough to land that job. You don’t have to start out by working for peanuts either, as the starting salaries in this field are amongst the highest for all college graduates.
As far as job growth goes, the engineering industry is more or less average. Employment in the sector is expected to grow roughly the same as the average of all other industries. To get an engineering job, however, you can’t just drop out of high school and expect to have any luck. For almost all entry-level jobs, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. In addition, for some research positions, an additional graduate degree may be required.
