Living a debt free life is completely impossible for some people. There’s some things that you have to have that most people have to get a loan for. A home is the main thing that is just too expensive to pay cash for. And, even a vehicle can take years to save for.
Where most people get into trouble is when they start using credit to purchase items that they could pay for with cash. With so many credit cards available today, there are very few people that don’t have at least one. And, most people have several credit cards that they use regularly.
There’s nothing wrong with making everyday purchases on a credit card if you can afford to pay the balance off in full each month. But, since using a credit card is so easy, many people abuse them and end up charging way more than they have meant to over a months time.
Although some people end up way over their heads in debt because of necessary purchases, most have simply just abused their credit cards. Unless you can be really diligent about the purchases you make, you should always get in the habit of using cash for your daily purchases.
